The panelists of Fox News’ “Outnumbered” were spooked by something that occurred outside their New York City studio during a recent show.

It’s not really clear what actually happened outside the Manhattan location where the program and the majority of the network’s other shows are taped and aired. However, co-host Emily Compagno told viewers that the show would return in a few moments after it was about to go to commercial.

Then, as the outtake music began to play, she looked to her left and then waved to get someone’s attention in the studio.

Then, “Outnumbered” co-hosts Harris Faulkner, Lisa Kennedy Montgomery, Kayleigh McEnany, and Ari Fleischer each appeared concerned by something they saw outside of the studio window.

Kennedy and Compagno pointed to something happening outside the studio windows while Faulkner looked to be engrossed in something as well, standing up to give it her entire attention. Fleischer and McEnany appeared concerned but remained seated.

Several of the network’s viewers also mentioned on Twitter that they had noticed the hosts acting worried and were interested in what had caused it:

In recent days, the network introduced its new prime-time line-up.

In a press release, the network revealed that Jesse Watters took over the 8 p.m. slot, directly replacing former network star Tucker Carlson. Laura Ingraham moved from 10 p.m. to 7 p.m., Sean Hannity remained at 9 p.m., and Greg Gutfeld moved to 10 p.m. Longtime news anchor Trace Gallagher follows up at the 11 p.m. time slot.

“A rotating cast of hosts stepped in to replace Carlson after he was abruptly fired from Fox News one week after it reached a $787.5 million settlement with Dominion Voting Systems over the airing of 2020 election lies. The ratings dipped significantly from the Carlson era, who in his seven years helming Tucker Carlson Tonight emerged as a controversial but popular host at the network,” Mediaite reported.

“Watters joined Fox News two decades ago, working his way up from production assistant to on-air commentator on Bill O’Reilly’s hit prime-time show. In recent years, he has become one of the most-watched personalities on the network, as co-host of the top-rated show The Five and solo host of his program Watters’ World, which debuted in the 7 p.m. slot in 2022,” the outlet added. “Perhaps the biggest shake-up is moving the top-rated late-night show Gutfeld from 11 PM to an hour earlier.”

Fox’s ratings collapsed after the network took then-top-rated host  Carlson off the air in late April. However, Fox News’ revamped primetime lineup outperformed competitors in July.

On July 17, “Jesse Watters Primetime” made its debut in that time slot, averaging 2.4 million viewers on a weekly basis. Gutfeld! averaged 1.98 million viewers and 252,000 viewers. With the latter, it finished behind Fox News’ “The Five,” which averaged 254,000, in that category. “The Five” had an average of 2.59 million viewers, making it the most-watched cable news program.

“In primetime, Fox News averaged 1.57 million viewers, down 26% from a year earlier. MSNBC averaged 1.12 million, down 13%, and CNN posted 534,000, down 27%. In the 25-54 demo, Fox News averaged 148,000, down 49%, compared to MSNBC with 108,000, down 19%, and CNN with 104,000, down 35%,” Deadline reported.
