The first two vice presidents of the United States were John Adams and Thomas Jefferson. It goes without saying that such luminaries no longer hold that position, and all that is left is to chuckle at the spectacle.
On Wednesday’s episode of Fox News’ “The Five,” comedian Greg Gutfeld made fun of Vice President Kamala Harris for the lack of respect she has received, even from the Biden family.
The president’s sister, Valerie Biden Owens, reportedly expressed support for Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, running for president, according to the New York Post.
“I feel like the Biden family is trolling Kamala,” Gutfeld said according to OK! magazine, a British publication that focuses on celebrities.
“Did you see that rumor in The Post? It’s great. Joe Biden’s sister … she is pushing Meghan Markle,” Gutfeld added.
“You know that is upsetting Kamala Harris when the president’s sister is saying, ‘You know who will be a good a president: Meghan Markle,’” the Fox funnyman quipped.
Harris’s reputation has suffered as a result of her talks, which are frequently an inadvertent source of humor. According to polls, she is the least favored vice president in American history.
Markle, on the other hand, became well-known solely as a result of her marriage into the British royal family. She ranks as an even less serious person than Harris, if that is possible.
This makes Harris’ purported endorsement of Markle by Biden Owens much more offensive, and it also makes the Democrats look bad.
Indeed, a rumored cooling in the Biden-Harris connection is a subtext of Gutfeld’s ridicule. According to OK!, among other things, the president has grown frustrated with Harris’ incapacity.
Consider that Biden believes someone else to be incompetent.
Markle, meanwhile, hasn’t exactly won over leading Democrats, notably California Governor Gavin Newsom, who claims that she has been badgering him nonstop, pleading to be selected to succeed the ill and elderly Sen. Dianne Feinstein.
Additionally, the attention-seeking Markle was compared to other “narcissists” in December 2022 by the left-leaning website Politico, including — God forbid! — Elon Musk and Donald Trump.
Democrats naturally assess people according to their chromosomes, unless those with a certain set of chromosomes “identify” as something other. Another subtext in Gutfeld’s humor is his fixation with gender.
“The more women we have, the better our democratic system will work, with a better point of view, a different point of view and we embrace all women,” Biden Owens said, according to the New York Post.
In conclusion, if all you want is “more women” in politics, you’ll get people like Harris and Markle.
On the other hand, you will discover impressive people if you look for them.
Jefferson and Adams come to mind.
